I was so happy to actually have a harvest after being gone for two weeks!
|
Here is the first broccoli of the season - Unfortunately it had gone to flower before we got home. So this went to the worms. |
|
We ate this broccoli! It was so much better than anything I have ever bought at the store. |
|
The first of the Fire and Ice Radishes. Tank was able to eat these since they were way past their prime. I am replanting the radishes today. |
|
The first of the Garlic came out. I am not sure what kind it is - I need to check my garden map. It is a purple variety but it did not get a large as the garlic from last year. Maybe it was the strange weather we have had or maybe it is because all of my watering has been done by timers this year instead of by hand. The spring was just too crazy. |
Somehow I did not take pictures of the onions, yellow squash or eggplant. I don't know how I missed them.
Harvest Monday is a day to share your harvest with other gardeners. Stop by
Daphne's Dandelions to join in!
Isn't it amazing how quickly the garden can turn into a jungle when your away......shame that some of your broccoli went to seed but sure the worms were happy! Nice crop of garlic, will you plait them into ropes?
ReplyDeleteI had planned on braiding them but now I am not so sure.
DeleteYay for broccoli! I've yet to harvest my first. I'm glad Tank got a nice treat :-D
ReplyDeleteThis must be the year for small purple garlic!
I was really happy with my first broccoli harvest. I hope it continues to produce for a little longer. It was so good!
DeleteFresh broccoli is the best!
ReplyDeleteGreat harvest! We lost all of our broccoli last year to a giant herd of snails! So this year we are super excited to have it again.
ReplyDeleteWith this being my first year gowing broccoli, I am really surprised how great it tastes. It has sweetness that I don't get with the store bought stuff. Broccoli will be a regular in our garden!
DeleteIsn't home grown broccoli just devine?! It's truly my favorite garden vegetable (next to sweet peas). :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great first harvest!
ReplyDeleteyour broccoli and radishes look great! I'm still trying to learn how to grow nice garlic too
