It was a crazy week trying to can all of the apricots and peaches but I really did not harvest a lot from the garden. I pulled four little onions to use in our hobo dinners and I fed Tank a lot of bolted lettuce and a little mustard greens. I think he is getting more out of the garden than anyone else.

Harvest Monday is a day to show off your harvests, how you are saving your
harvest, or how you are using your harvest. If you have a harvest you want to
show off, stop by
Daphne's Dandelions to join in.
I love how your Tank benefits from your garden greens :) and bautiful peaches! how do you preserve them?
ReplyDeleteWith peaches I peel, pit, and slice them and apricots I just halve them. Then I process the fruit in a boiling water canner with a very light syrup. I like for them to be tart - not sweet. :)
DeleteCanning this year has been a challenge. I have a glass top stove and can not use it wth my canner. I used our coleman camping stove and I really liked it. It was able to heat the water - and keep it boiling - even better than my regular gas stove did last year.
Wow peaches and apricots! We won't harvest our peaches for a couple more months. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAround here most fruits are done before June. The summer's are just too hot. I am really upset that we will not get any wild plums this year. The rain came too late. Maybe next year...
