Home at Last

The last two weeks have probably been the hardest of my life. My Mother In Law - MO - passed away after a short, hard fight with cancer. She was diagnosed with lung and bone cancer in March and spent almost every day since then in the hospital. It was just so fast. Thankfully David and I were able to be with her until the very end. We spent the last week planning her funeral service and making decisions with David's Dad.

The Air Force has really bad timing. We were approved for our hardship move - the day after she passed away. We are required to report any changes in the situation to whoever makes these decisions. Our orders home will probably be canceled. I don't know how I feel about this.

I feel like I have aged ten years in the last week. Hopefully tomorrow I will start to feel like myself.

  1. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Please give my condolences to David. Does this mean the move will be cancelled and you'll stay in your new home, or don't you know yet?

    1. They approved the move the day after she passed away so we don't really know. I am pretty sure it will be cancled.

  4. So sorry for your loss. Thankful though that her battle was brief. My husband lost his dad to lung cancer last year and I remember what a relief it was when he finally passed after 6 months of misery. Cancer is a bitch.
    *hugs*

    1. I feel horrible for thinking this but it was a relief when she went. She was in so much pain. Thank you for the hugs... I need them right now. :)
