Garden Plan

I have spent so many hours trying to figure out what I want in my backyard. We know we need a small patio, a kitchen/grill area, and lots of raised beds. Our soil is terrible, so the only way I can see us having a good garden is to do raised beds. Plus it will keep the tortoise out of my plants. I learned two years ago that Tank can eat an entire garden in one day. I love to use the online garden planner (and they have Garden Plan Pro for my IPad) and I just figured out how to publish it to the Internet. So here is my new Garden Plan. Hopefully we will be able to build the raised beds this weekend so I can post pictures next week.

  1. Looks great....except for one thing. Ideally, corn should be planted in blocks, rather than single long rows. The kernels are formed by pollen falling from the tassels onto the unformed ears, so pollination is much better coming from all directions. I'm afraid you'll end up with a lot of ears that are not completely filled if you go the one row method.

    1. I plan on planting them in bunches of three. I am still reading on each plant. I am growing so much this year that I have never grown before- Corn being one of them. Thanks so much for the tip. I need all the help I can get!
